Marcelo Toledo is a New York-based Argentinean composer who has developed a musical style particularly oriented toward the exploration of instrumental timbre, an aspect of his work which has become a characteristic of his compositions. From 2000 to 2010 his compositions had almost completely eliminated the traditional importance given to pitch in order to focus on a new aural matter that he called Fluid Noise. From 2010 to the present, Toledo's music embraces all sounds exploring what he calls Textural Noise. Toledo considers the friction between imagination and representation the actual boundary of what is possible in the world of new music today.
